Brock Crouch
Brock Crouch was a surfer before he was a snowboarder. Of course, he started snowboarding at age six, so he’s been influenced by both surf and snow style virtually all of his life. Once it was clear life on a snowboard was for him, Crouch’s folks promptly pulled up stakes at the beach and landed on Mammoth Mountain in California’s Eastern Sierras.
Experiencing the thrill of victory early, Crouch lived the life of a modern-day, two-sport athlete, competing both on the snow and in the surf. At the ripe old age of 11, Crouch committed to slopestyle, where he found supreme joy in fussing the snow and surf styles.
In 2014, he won the Burton European Open in Laax, Switzerland, which took his career to the next level. Over the years Crouch began to focus more and more on backcountry exploration–a pursuit that almost took his life in 2018 when an avalanche in the Canadian wilderness almost ended him.
After being buried under the snow for over five minutes, he was eventually rescued. Two years later, he was on the top of the podium at a Dew Tour event in Copper, Colorado. Quitting is simply not something Crouch does.
Since his return, Brock has turned much of his focus to conquering the terrain that almost killed him, landing film segments in Burton’s “One World” and “ARK” and earning the invite to Natural Selection Tour in 2023. Snowboarding has and will always be Crouch’s ultimate joy.
