TODD RICHARDS
A man of many talents, Todd Richards is an Olympian, commentator, author, podcaster, actor, entrepreneur and a legendary pro snowboarder. One of the industry’s most influential people, he has had a direct role in shaping the sport into what it is today.
Originally from Massachusetts, Richads started his action sports journey as a skateboarder who snowboarded in the winter when temperatures dropped below freezing and it became too icy to skateboard.
Richards began competitive snowboarding around the time halfpipes were new to the scene. He went on to claim multiple X Games medals (his first Gold being at the inaugural X Games event in 1997), multiple US Open Halfpipe titles and too many more contests and wins to keep listing here.
Richards joined Team USA in Nagano, Japan, for snowboarding’s inauguration into the 1998 Winter Olympic Games. Today he serves as a live commentator and the “voice” in action sports events, including the Olympics, Dew Tour, Nitro Games, US Grand Prix and more. He has been NBC’s voice of snowboarding for four Olympic Games and will continue to be an industry leader in the host/commentator space for years to come.
Now residing in Encinitas, California, on any given day Richards can be found surfing the nearby beachbreaks, skating the local skatepark, or maybe just hanging at Panikin Coffee shop on the 101.
